Dr. Claire Berkowitz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Art and Art History and Biomedical engineering from Tufts University. Dr. Berkowitz, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, served as Clinical Research Coordinator with Spanish speaking patients at Mount Sinai Hospital. She then earned her M.D. from Albany Medical College, where she was admitted to the coveted Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during her junior year of medical school. After medical school, she completed her dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital where, during her final year, she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident of Dermatology for the hospital and its affiliates. As a complement to her private practice, Dr. Berkowitz holds the position of Dermatology Attending at Elmhurst Hospital, where she oversees and teaches Mount Sinai Hospital dermatology residents and medical students in both weekly pediatric and general dermatology clinics. Here, she also coordinates and leads the inpatient dermatology consult service.
