About Me
Dr. Clara Li is a clinical neuropsychologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, New York. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a minor in clinical neuropsychology from Yeshiva University.
Dr. Li provides neuropsychological consultations for adult patients with memory loss and dementia, with a particular focus on Chinese American older adults. She also trains Chinese-English bilingual doctoral candidates to administer neuropsychological tests and interpret cognitive data. Dr. Li has published peer-reviewed manuscripts and chapters on Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, and has presented her research at international conferences. Dr. Li’s research is currently funded by federal grants from National Institutes of Health/ National Institutes on Aging. Her recent research projects focus on studying the cognitive health of Chinese American older adults. In addition, Dr. Li is the principle investigator for two clinical trials at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai: the EXERT and MIND study. The EXERT study is a Phase III study examining the effects of exercise on cognitive function and biological markers of Alzheimer’s Disease in older adults with mild memory loss. The MIND study is a Phase II study testing whether nicotine in patch form is effective in improving memory and functioning in adults with mild memory problems. Dr. Li also serves as a co-investigator for other clinical studies and trials within the ADRC to identify effective treatment for memory loss and Alzheimer ’s Disease.
