Connie Zhao, MD

About Me

Connie Zhao, MD (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at Mount Sinai. Dr. Zhao joined Mount Sinai in 2024 after completing Infectious Diseases fellowship and Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai.


Dr. Zhao specializes in HIV care as well as the diagnosis, management, and prevention of infections in immunocompromised hosts including solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients. She is as a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST). Her prior research work focused on HIV entry, the host immune response, and novel antiretroviral drug development. Dr. Zhao completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University and earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
