
About Me
Dr. Courtney Chou is a sleep surgeon, who is double board certified in Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine with fellowship training in Sleep Surgery. She has a comprehensive understanding of obstructive sleep apnea and provides the full scope of surgical therapies for sleep apnea, including drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE), nasal and pharyngeal surgery, Inspire therapy/hypoglossal nerve stimulation, maxillary expansion, genioglossus advancement, and maxillomandibular advancement surgery. Dr. Chou is one of the few otolaryngologists in the country with a background in sleep medicine, as well as expertise in skeletal surgeries for sleep apnea.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Chou completed her otolaryngology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She then completed fellowships in sleep medicine and sleep surgery at Stanford University.
Dr. Chou sees patients at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and is pleased to offer rapid appointments and comprehensive and advanced sleep apnea care to patients.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
