About Me

Dr. Cydney Ortiz is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Clinical Director of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC). Dr. Ortiz is also a clinical supervisor for the MSAHC APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology, Psychology Externship, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship Training Program. Dr. Ortiz received her doctorate in clinical psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She completed her APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship at UCSF ZSFGH Child and Adolescent Services, and her Post-Doctoral Fellowship at UCSF ZSFGH Child Trauma Research Program (CTRP).

Dr. Ortiz has had extensive clinical training in hospitals, schools, and community mental health settings providing individual, dyadic, family, and group psychotherapy. She specializes in the treatment of trauma and life stressors, and is rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Dr. Ortiz is also a committee member on the Department of Psychiatry Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Steering Committee.
