About Me
Dr. Cynthia Krause is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Krause specializes in all aspects of office gynecology but is particularly focused on the treatment of menopause, individualized hormone therapy and treatment of genitourinary symptoms associated with menopause. She has extensive experience with evaluation and treatment of abnormal pap tests, HPV, abnormal uterine bleeding, screening for hereditary cancer syndromes, contraception counseling, and well woman care. In-office procedures include MonaLisa Touch laser therapy, pelvic ultrasound, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, and hereditary cancer screening.
Dr. Krause is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and completes board re-certification annually. She has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for more than 10 years. She has been a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) for 20 years and has been a NAMS certified menopause practitioner since 2011. Dr. Krause also has been a member of the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology for 20 years. She served on the Mount Sinai Medical School admissions committee for a decade and continues to teach medical students.
Dr. Krause received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. She completed two years of residency training in Internal Medicine, a component of her education that has added depth to her focus on women’s health. She completed her residency in OBGYN at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
