Dana Daniel Larsen, MD
Endocrine, Diabetes and Bone Diseases (Endocrinology)
About Me
Dr. Dana Larsen joined Mount Sinai as an Endocrinologist in 2022. After completing his undergraduate studies at Boston College, Dr. Larsen earned his doctorate degree from New York Medical College. He then went on to Montefiore Medical Center for his Internal Medicine residency, followed by the Icahn School of Medicine for his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Metabolism. In his final year of fellowship, Dr. Larsen acted as Chief Fellow, and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as board eligible in Endocrinology. Furthermore, Dr. Larsen is multilingual and can communicate with patients in English, Spanish, and Korean.
In conjunction with his clinical work, Dr. Larsen is involved in both leadership and research roles. One of his teaching activities includes acting as a voluntary preceptor of the East Harlem Health Outreach Program, where he supervises medical students who provide free medical care to patients without insurance. Additionally, during his fellowship, Dr. Larsen focused on researching non-invasive approaches to papillary thyroid microcarcinoma, and developed a clinical interest in thyroid disease.
Outside of his time with patients, Dr. Larsen enjoys experiencing new cultures by traveling to new countries and eating cuisines from all over the world. He is also involved with his church, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is an active participant in CrossFit.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. LARSEN has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
