About Me
Dr. Katz is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain, & Perioperative Medicine. Dr. Katz graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics after which he completed is MD training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Katz also completed residency training at Mt. Sinai where he was a chief resident. Dr. Katz has research interests in two main fields, simulation as well as obstetric anesthesia. He has performed lectures and written papers on both topics. His specific areas of interest in those fields are novel educational enviroments such as virtual and augmented reality in the domain of simulation, and obstetric hemorrhage and viscoelastic testing in obstetric anesthesiology. Dr. Katz is also the chair of the CPR and Resuscitation Committee of the Mount Sinai Health System.
