About Me

I'm originally from Belo Horizonte - a big city in Brazil surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, and the capital of a state known for its unique culinary and music scenes. Therefore, I grew up loving the outdoors, homemade food and playing the guitar with my friends. I was also insatiably curious, which led me down the path of scientific research that brought me to New York, where I studied Biochemistry at Columbia University. As an undergraduate, I worked in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, developing and testing new antibiotic and antiviral compounds. After graduating in 2023, I moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where I worked at the Karolinska Institute, studying protein degradation pathways in cancer cells.

I'm excited to be back in New York and be part of the MSTP program at Mount Sinai in 2024, where I'll continue to improve my research skills and develop the clinical background necessary to bring new therapeutics to the bedside.
