About Me
Dr. Dave Shukla has practiced Orthopedics since 2017 and specializes in elbow surgery and shoulder reconstruction & replacement. After completing his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, Dr. Shukla moved to Ireland where he earned his medical degree from University College Dublin School of Medicine. He then returned to the US for his internship in General Surgery at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education followed by a Biomechanics Research Fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He then completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at The Icahn School of Medicine before finishing his training with a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Upper Extremity at Mayo Clinic. With his board certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Shukla's clinical interests center around practicing evidence-based medicine in shoulder and elbow surgeries.
Before joining Mount Sinai in 2022, Dr. Shukla worked as a partner in a multi-specialty group in Southern California. He now serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine and maintains his interest in advancing the field of shoulder and elbow surgery by being actively involved in research. He is also an author on over 50 peer-reviewed publications, has given 24 presentations at national and international meetings, and serves as a consultant editorial reviewer for four orthopedic journals. He is member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and holds fellowship status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey.
