About Me
Dr. David Kaufman is clinical associate professor of pediatrics and neurology. He has been on the faculty at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since completing his residency in neurology and fellowship in pediatric neurology at Mount Sinai. Dr. Kaufman has served as the Medical Director of Premier HealthCare from 1997-2014. Premier HealthCare is part of the network of agencies that comprise YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities. He was instrumental in founding the medical component of the program, and has been responsible for its continued growth and excellent patient care. Dr. Kaufman is now the Medical Director of AHRCNYC. Dr. Kaufman has been recognized on several occasions as “Top Doctor” in his field by both local and national publications.
Teaching, mentorship, program development, and patient care are the foundation of Dr. Kaufman’s career. He has served as inpatient teaching attending every year since 1980, never missing a year. Between 1980 and 1998, Dr. Kaufman served as voluntary attending in the pediatric neurology clinic on Friday mornings, teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and neurology residents. Currently he is a co-attending in the pediatric neurology clinic on Thursday mornings. Dr. Kaufman devotes a substantial amount of his time and energy to his role as teacher and mentor to the medical students and residents who rotate with him. In addition, he maintains a very active private practice in pediatric neurology.
Dr. Kaufman is registered to provide telehealth services in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page.
