About Me
David N. Anderson MD, FACS, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist whose practice is dedicated to the treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. He is Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Breast Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He treats patients at the Dubin Breast Center of The Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed a residency in General Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. During residency he completed a research fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (Sloan). He did his clinical fellowship in breast surgical oncology, developing expertise in all aspects of breast surgery, also at Sloan. Prior to joining the Dubin Breast Center, Dr. Anderson was on the faculty of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where he maintained an active breast surgical practice. Dr. Anderson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Anderson performs all types of breast surgery including breast conservation (lumpectomy), mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, and axillary lymph node procedures. He collaborates and closely works with a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists including radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and plastic surgeons to provide the highest quality care.
