About Me

Dr. David Lam graduated from The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Following medical school, he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then moved to New York City and completed his clinical fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Diseases at Mount Sinai.

During his fellowship training he developed areas of interest in improving the treatment of the diabetic emergency, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and the metabolic changes associated with obesity before and after bariatric surgery. With funding support from the Department of Medicine Advancing Clinical Excellence in Medicine training grant, he was the principal investigator in developing a multi-disciplinary DKA care pathway for patients admitted to Mount Sinai.

As a faculty member, Dr Lam has devoted his efforts towards clinical care, quality improvement projects for patients with diabetes in the hospital, as well as participating in clinical trials for patients with type 1 diabetes.

The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page. This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.
