About Me
Dr. Dawar Mahmood has been in practice as a surgeon for over 35 years. After graduating with his medical degree from King Edward Medical College at the University of Punjab in Pakistan, Dr. Mahmood completed his residency in General Surgery at Cabrini Medical Center. With his board certification by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Mahmood specializes in cancer surgery, including colon, rectal, stomach, small intestine, and breast, as well as general surgery using both traditional and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques. Additionally, Dr. Mahmood is bilingual and can communicate with patients in both English and Hindi.
In conjunction with his clinical work, Dr. Mahmood serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Icahn School of Medicine. He is also the Director of Wound Care Services and participates in the Mount Sinai Queens community outreach program by giving lectures on various topics in general surgery and cancer surgery.
