About Me
Dr. Dayana Eslava received her medical degree at El Bosque University in Bogota, Colombia and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center-Long Island College Hospital in NY. In 2011, Dr. Eslava joined Mt. Sinai-St. Luke's Hospital as a full time Cardiology Attending. Dr. Eslava is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Eslava is dedicated to the care and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. She participates in educational events and free health fairs to promote cardiovascular disease awareness and a healthy lifestyle. She is a member of Women's Heart NY , a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive heart program designed specifically for women who are at risk for heart disease or have a history of heart disease. Dr. Eslava recognizes that there is a gap in the communication between the medical system and the Spanish speaking community. Her focus is to eliminate these health care disparities. She is fluent in Spanish and offers an integral cardiovascular service in a culturally relevant manner with full understanding of the Latino population’s customary foods, importance of family and religion, typical activities, and traditions.
