Dr. Guthrie was born and raised in Queens, New York. She received her medical degree from the prestigious Weill Cornell Medical College and later interned at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Guthrie went on to complete her post graduate training in Ophthalmology at the world renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She has been in practice nearly 24 years and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Guthrie has lectured extensively to corporate and community groups during her impressive career. She was awarded the Women in Science award by her alma mater, Benjamin Cardozo High School in Bayside several years ago. A frequent contributor to the Woodside Herald newspaper, she writes a medical advice column, ” Eye on Guthrie”. Dr. Guthrie has always believed the relationship between doctor and patient contributes significantly to the quality of care delivered and received and has built her practice on this fundamental belief.
