About Me
Denise Lee, MD, is a board certified general surgeon with fellowship training in endocrine surgery. She specializes in the comprehensive and personalized surgical management of all aspects of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disorders, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Lee graduated cum laude from Harvard University and received her medical degree from the University of Florida. She began training in General Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was recognized as both the outstanding intern and PGY-2 of the year. During this time, she was awarded prestigious research grants including the Society of University Surgeons-Ethicon Scholarship Award and a NIH T32 training grant to support her research in the mechanisms of immune tolerance in neonatal gene therapy. Dr. Lee went on to complete general surgery training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and fellowship training in endocrine surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University.
Dr. Lee's research interests include utilizing machine learning to augment methods of thyroid cancer diagnosis and improving outcomes in primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism. She has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at multiple national and regional meetings.
