About Me

Dr. Finkielstein earned his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1994 (graduating magna cum laude) and his M.D. degree from S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York in 1998. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2001 and went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2004 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Currently, Dr. Finkielstein serves as the Associate Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
In addition, he serves as the Director of the Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship and the Director of Ambulatory Cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. He holds board certifications in Cardiovascular Diseases, Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Image Interpretation, and Internal Medicine. He is nationally recognized expert in cardiovascular imaging, focusing on echocardiography, as well as in the field of anticoagulation. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications in the literature and delivers several invited lectures throughout New York City and nationally each year.
