About Me

Derek Mazique, MD is the Chief Medical Officer for MSBI and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE). As the physician-leader at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, he leads a diverse and multidisciplinary team that oversees quality, safety, infection prevention, medical affairs, and PA services at that campus. He also interfaces with leaders throughout the Mount Sinai Downtown community on a number of topics that includes operational throughput, patient experience, regulatory preparedness, and medical education. Dr. Mazique was previously the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of MSBI, and prior to his time at Mount Sinai, he was the Associate Chief Quality Officer/Patient Safety Officer at NewYork-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital (NYP-Columbia Medical Center's community affiliate in northern Manhattan). He is board certified in Internal Medicine and will continue to practice as a hospital medicine physician at MSBI.
