About Me
Dr. Donald Lawrence has practiced pediatrics in Hewlett for over 40 years. After graduating with his medical degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Lawrence completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Long Island Jewish Medical Center-Hillside Medical Center. With his certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Lawrence is a member of the pediatric attending staff at Mount Sinai South Nassau, North Shore University Medical Center, and Hillside Medical Center.
Before joining Mount Sinai in 2014, Dr. Lawrence acted as pediatrician-in-charge at Bainbridge Naval Training Center in Maryland. In his professional community today, Dr. Lawrence is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
When it comes to working with his patients, Dr. Lawrence explains that his favorite part about being a Pediatrician is being able to communicate and develop great relationships with children, parents, and extended family. He states “I encourage all patients to call me, and I often call them to follow up with their particular problems and concerns.”

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
