About Me
Douglas Dieterich, MD, is currently Director of the Institute for Liver Medicine of the Mount Sinai Health System and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Liver Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Dieterich is an investigator for several ongoing studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of various antiviral treatment regimens that may produce a “cure” for chronic hepatitis B. He is also involved in studies of MASH(formerly NASH), and Primary Biliary Cholangitis. A member of many professional societies, Dr. Dieterich is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He has served on several committees of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group at the National Institutes of Health. Widely published, Dr. Dieterich is the author of numerous journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters on viral hepatitis B & C and AIDS-associated infections of the gastrointestinal tract and liver.
