About Me
Edward Lung, MD, MPH is the Director of Endoscopy for the Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai West/ Mount Sinai Morningside, Director of Advanced Endoscopy at Mount Sinai West/ Mount Sinai Morningside, and previously served as the Associate Program Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Training Program. Dr. Lung is a Professor of Medicine and serves as an officer of the Medical Board. He is a member of the Pancreatic Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic at Mount Sinai. Dr. Lung received his undergraduate degree from New York University, where he graduated with honors in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Lung completed residency training in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center and served as Chief Medical Resident. He then completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also served as Chief Fellow. He then received a Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Lung was a faculty member and advanced endoscopist at UCSF in the Division of Gastroenterology before returning to New York.
Dr. Lung’s clinical interests are in diseases and cancers of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, biliary tract, and colon. He performs advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), cholangioscopy, endoscopic submucosal resection and dissection, endoluminal stent placement, complex polypectomy, and endoscopic bariatric therapies.
