About Me
Dr. Elisa Bocchieri-Bustros has practiced Endocrinology for over 10 years. After graduating with her medical degree from NY College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. She then moved to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for her fellowship in Clinical Nutrition before completing a second fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. With her board certifications in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Metabolism, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros specializes in the treatment and management of diabetes, conditions of the thyroid, bone pituitary, parathyroid, and reproductive and adrenal glands.
Before joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros worked as a consultant to the NYS Department of Health in the Doctors Across NY program to improve diabetes care in underserved areas of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. She also acted as co-investigator in multiple clinical trials involving the treatment of obesity throughout her fellowship.
In addition to her current clinical role, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros serves as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Bone Disease at The Icahn School of Medicine. For several years, she has also had clinical and teaching responsibilities in the training of the endocrinology fellows at Mount Sinai. Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society.
