    Research

Many neural networks are multifunctional, i.e., activity is configured and then reconfigured to generate more than one output. Our research characterizes mechanisms that enable this form of plasticity. Our experiments are conducted in a model system; the feeding system of the marine mollusc Aplysia californica, and primarily utilize electrophysiological and imaging techniques.
