About Me
Elizabeth Haines, DO, MSc, FACEP, is Chief Operating Officer of Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and Senior Vice President of Pediatric Services for Mount Sinai Health System.
In this role, Dr. Haines provides strategic leadership for children’s health initiatives across the Health System, with oversight of clinical operations, patient safety, and quality improvement. She is responsible for advancing family-centered care, expanding pediatric programs, and driving innovation to improve outcomes for children and adolescents. Dr. Haines also serves as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Haines led organizational initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, advance health equity, and standardize patient care through the implementation of evidence-based clinical pathways. She has applied her extensive expertise in emergency medicine and improvement science to a wide range of projects, including notable work to optimize data collection on race, ethnicity, and language to reduce disparities in safety outcomes.
Dr. Haines earned her DO from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Atlantic Health. She also holds a Master of Science in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
