About Me
Emma H. Kaplan, MD is an assistant professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai specializing in neuromuscular medicine.
She has special interest in amyloidosis, Guillain Barre syndrome, and myasthenia gravis. She also cares for patients with a wide variety of neurologic disease within and outside of neuromuscular medicine. She performs botulinum injections to treat a number of diseases including migraine, focal limb dystonia, and spasticity.
She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, then completed her internship in internal medicine followed by her neurology residency at Boston Medical Center. She completed a clinical neurophysiology fellowship specializing in electromyography (EMG) at Mount Sinai Hospital.
She has published on a variety of neurologic topics dating back to her undergraduate years. Amongst her recent neuromuscular publications, she has written about the use of botulinum injections in focal limb dystonia and about a rare variant of Guillain Barre syndrome.
