About Me
Eric Seitelman, MD, FACS, Program Director of Icahn School of Medicine at South Nassau General Surgery Residency, is a board certified Surgeon with a specialty in Complex Surgical Oncology. He is a native of Long Island and trained in General Surgery locally spending a considerable amount of time where he now runs the Icahn School of Medicine residency. Dr. Seitelman completed his fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at Virginia Commonwealth University, and then became a faculty member at South Nassau Communities Hospital in 2012. At South Nassau which is now an affiliate with Mount Sinai, Dr. Seitelman developed an ACGME Surgical Residency Program which is now part of the Icahn School of Medicine.
Clinically, Dr. Seitelman has established a thriving surgical oncology practice focused on the surgical management of melanoma, sarcoma, breast cancer and GI malignancies. He presents often at South Nassau’s multispecialty tumor board since 2012 and runs many of the surgical conferences at South Nassau Communities Hospital. This allows Dr. Seitelman to work closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists and radiologists, nurse navigators and genetic counselors to provide the best, most up to date management for his patients and offer treatments that allow for optimal oncological and cosmetic outcomes while limiting pain.
