About Me
Dr. Evan Kessler began practicing as a vascular surgeon in 2022 and joined Mount Sinai South Nassau in the same year. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, Dr. Kessler completed the prestigious IRTA pre-doctoral research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He then earned his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University before pursuing his residency in General Surgery with The Icahn School of Medicine at Mont Sinai South Nassau Hospital. He finished his training with a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School.
As a board certified physician by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery and a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI), Dr. Kessler's clinical expertise includes the treatment of aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease and venous disorders, limb salvage therapies, carotid disease, hemodialysis access, wound care, and the utilization of open, endovascular, and hybrid treatment options. Additionally, Dr. Kessler obtained a Master of Public Health with a concentration on health services administration from the University of Buffalo. He has a particular interest in health policy, quality, and outcome-based medicine. He strives to prioritize patient-centered care and effective communication, and works in multidisciplinary teams to identify the best and most up-to-date, individualized treatment plans.
In his professional community, Dr. Kessler is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery for The Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Kessler's work has been published numerous times in prestigious journals, including the Journal of Surgical Education, the Journal of Surgical Case Reports, and the Journal of Surgical Research.
