About Me
Dr. Evan Baird is a Board-Certified spine surgeon. He is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedics residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where faculty members honored him by being selected as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year of training.
Dr. Baird continued his training as a Spine Surgery Fellow at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, widely regarded as one of the most sought-after spine fellowships in the country. Here he trained with world leaders in spine surgery, gaining experience in adult degenerative spine conditions, spinal tumors, revision surgery as well as motion preservation techniques for the treatment of the cervical spine.
Prior to joining Comprehensive Spine Care, Dr. Baird was a full-time faculty member at the Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as Associate Program Director for the orthopaedic surgery residency program. He continues his affiliation with the medical center, where he holds the title of Assistant Clinical Professor and participates in the surgical education of residents and spine surgery fellows.
Dr. Baird specializes in both traditional and minimally invasive cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery, as well as complex and revision surgery. His areas of interest include the treatment of spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniations and radiculopathy, cervical and thoracic myelopathy and spinal trauma. His research interests include spine surgical outcomes and spine biomechanics. He has authored portions of several spine surgery textbooks, numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles, presented research at national research meetings and has received a grant from the Cervical Spine Research Society in recognition of his efforts. He is an active member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
