About Me

Dr. Farah Atallah-Lajam began practicing as a Cardiologist in 1992 and joined Mount Sinai in 2010. After earning his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma De Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Atallah-Lajam served as a medical doctor at the Army Hospital in Santo Domingo. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine before completing a fellowship in Cardiology at Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center. To finish his training, Dr. Atallah-Lajam moved to Lenox Hill Hospital for a second fellowship in Invasive Cardiology. In addition to his double board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology, Dr. Atallah-Lajam is certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He specializes in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology, which employs noninvasive techniques to evaluate the blood flow and pumping action of the heart, including visualizing the size and location of a heart attack.

In conjunction with his clinical role, Dr. Atallah-Lajam serves as a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology at The Icahn School of Medicine. He is also active in enrolling patients into studies carried out in the Cardiovascular Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In his professional community, Dr. Atallah-Lajam is a member of Sociedad Medica Dominicana. Additionally, he is bilingual and can communicate with patients in both English and Spanish. When working with his patients, Dr. Atallah-Lajam believes in educating his patients to ensure that each one understands the diagnosis and the plan of care that they arrive at together.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
