During her residency, Dr. Hussain was honored with the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Award for Excellence in Obstetrics. She went on to complete a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Mount Sinai West and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Hussain is actively involved in research on gestational diabetes, preterm birth, and liver disease in pregnancy. Her research has covered such areas as the accuracy of intermittently scanned continuous glucose monitoring in gestational diabetes, the impact of managing gestational diabetes mellitus with telemedicine on pregnancy outcomes, and the effectiveness of vaginal progesterone and cerclage in preventing preterm births in patients with a short cervix.

Dr. Hussain is a member of a number of committees, including Mount Sinai’s OBGYN Quality Improvement Committee, and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Hussain speaks fluent English, Hindi, and Urdu.
