About Me
Federica Picozzi-Akke, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Newborn Medicine at the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine.
Dr. Picozzi-Akke received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Northwell Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center and completed her Neonatal-Perinatal Medical Fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center/ NY Presbyterian Hospital.
Clinical Focus:
Dr. Picozzi-Akke specializes in the study of neonatal hemodynamics through the use of Functional Neonatal Echocardiography and POCUS.
Research Focus:
Dr. Picozzi-Akke’s research focuses on the assessment of PDA severity and PDA treatment monitoring with the use of echocardiography and non-invasive tools for evaluation of systemic perfusion.
