Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Care Provider’s Explanation

Care Provider’s Concern

Likelihood to Recommend Care Provider

I love Dr Carnavali. He is very caring, thorough, took his time to hear me and talk to me. He looked at my hospital chart and reviewed several things with me - even looked up an academic paper on the topic of my issue so we could look at it together.

The outcome was good but he was very keen to show me presentations he'd made which contained information that was familiar to me, he came across as more of a professor than a doctor. Could have spent more time listening and worked from there, saved us both time

Dr. Carnavali is the most personable, considerate, and informed physician I have ever encountered. (And in my 77+ years, I've encountered quite a few!) I have always felt heard and respected under his care.

Industry Relationships

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.

Dr. Carnavali has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.

Mount Sinai's faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
