About Me
Dr. Francis Scott Nowakowski, a nationally recognized physician, is the Director of Operations of the Mount Sinai Hospital Interventional Radiology and Director of the Mount Sinai Interventional Fibroid Care Center. As an attending physician at The Mount Sinai Hospital for over 20 years. Dr. Nowakowski has prioritized patient safely as Director of Quality of Interventional Radiology of the Mount Sinai Health System.
Dr. Nowakowski has published over 40 articles and over 200 abstracts on the topic of Interventional Radiology. He has been lead or co-investigator on over 90 clinical research projects and trails. Dr. Nowakowski has presented throughout the country as well as internationally on such topics as uterine artery embolization, portal hypertension / TIPS, and Interventional Oncology. He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Vascular and Interventional Radiology annually since 2014.
As a founding member of the iCARE Team, Dr. Nowakowski has been privotal in establishing peer-to-peer support groups for members of the Mount Sinai community. He is also the Wellness Champion for the Department of Radiology Faculty and Housestaff.
Having a distinct interest in resident education, Dr. Nowakowski has been a Board Examiner and a member of the Vascular and Interventional Core Exam Committee for the American Board of Radiology. He has also been awared The Harold A. Mitty Distinguished Educator Awards in Interventional Radiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Nowakowski received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Health System / Pennsylvania Hospital and his Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Christiana Care Health System.
