About Me
Dr. Frank S. Hwang joined Mount Sinai in 2026 as a Rheumatologist. After completing his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, Dr. Hwang earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He subsequently returned to Stony Brook for his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by his fellowship in Rheumatology with Northwell Health.
Dr. Hwang is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and specializes in Rheumatology. In his professional community, Dr. Hwang is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians.
When discussing his role as a physician, Dr. Hwang explains, "I initially entered the medical field out of love for science, but the incredible privilege of listening and impacting people's lives is what I value the most. I hope to partner with patients holistically to address their underlying medical concerns while ensuring their values and autonomy are always at the center of a treatment plan. I tell all my patients, 'Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and your health.'"
Outside of his time in the office, Dr. Hwang enjoys exploring New York City, trying out new restaurants, hiking, and playing video games.
