About Me

Garrett Burnett, MD is an Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Burnett completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He then completed residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a fellowship in Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Burnett serves as the Director of Operations and core simulation facutly for the Mount Sinai Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine Human Emulation, Education, and Evaluation Lab for Patient Safety and Professional Study (HELPS) Center. Additionally, Dr. Burnett is certified in Focused Assessed Transthoracic Echo (FATE) and trained in Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for which he teaches the PGY-1 and PGY-4 POCUS rotations. Dr. Burnett has published numerous studies on simulation and regional anesthesia as well as presented at national and international meetings.
