George Velasco, MD is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at ISMMS-Mount Sinai Morningside. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada. His clinical interests include primary care, underserved populations, and HIV medicine. In research, Dr. Velasco is interested in medical education and ringside medicine. Dr. Velasco is a USA boxing ringside physician, and is the author of book chapters related to boxing in the sports medicine textbook Specific Sports-Related Injuries and in The Association of Ringside Physicians Manual of Combat Sports Medicine. Dr. Velasco has also served as a volunteer attending physician at the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership, a free clinic in New York City run by Mount Sinai medical students.
