About Me

Dr. Hoke is a native New Yorker, the product of the public school system of New York City. Dr. Hoke was born in Harlem New York, and raised in the North Bronx. After attending the prestigious Bronx High School of Science, he attended New York University. He ultimately received his M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1983. Following his prerequisite surgical training at Downstate-Kings County Medical Center, he completed his urologic training at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1989. Dr. Hoke became the Chief of Urology at Harlem Hospital in 1993. Dr. Hoke’s postgraduate training includes a research fellowship in health services research at the AAMC Health Services Research Institute, and a Masters of Public Health degree (MPH) from the Columbia University School of Public Health. His clinical expertise is in men's health issues, male and female sexual dysfunction, prostate diseases including BPH & cancer, and incontinence. Dr. Hoke is a board-certified urologist (Diplomate of the American Board of Urology), and has authored numerous scientific publications. He has been appointed to several prestigious committees such as the New York State Prostate Cancer Task Force under Governor George Pataki, and the American Urological Associations’ Practice Parameters and Guidelines Subcommittee. Dr. Hoke was named as one of the nations top 100 physicians in 2001 by Black Enterprise Magazine and one of the top 25 Black New York physicians by The Network Journal in 2002. He is also an Honorary Police Surgeon for the NYC Police Department.
