About Me
Dr. Gibran Shaikh is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai. He is a board-certified dermatologist and sees patients of all ages. Dr. Shaikh completed his residency training within the Mount Sinai Health System and the University of Maryland. At Maryland, he served as the chief resident in the Department of Dermatology. Prior to residency, he completed his medical degree at NYU School of Medicine.
Dr. Shaikh prides himself on providing evidence-based, empathetic care for his patients. He strives to treat every patient as though they were a family member. Particular areas of interest include hair loss, skin of color, skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, and acne in addition to complex medical dermatology. He has authored papers in a number of high-impact, peer reviewed medical journals. He mentors medical students and residents at all levels of training to help shape the next generation of dermatologists. Finally, he is bilingual Spanish and English, allowing him to provide culturally competent care to New York City’s Hispanic community.
