About Me

Dr. Hana Paisner is a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Paisner has worked with individuals across the lifespan within the inpatient, outpatient, partial-hospital and school settings. She specializes in interpersonal, insight-oriented treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, severe and persistent mental illnesses, trauma, social and behavioral difficulties and relational stress. Dr. Paisner utilizes an integrative approach to treatment tailored to the needs of each individual, incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques rooted in clients’ unique sets of experiences and treatment goals. Dr. Paisner aims to provide a safe and supportive environment in which clients can engage in self-exploration and increase self and other understanding while playing an active and collaborative role in the therapy process.


Dr. Paisner received her B.A. from Tufts University in Medford, MA where she majored in Clinical Psychology and her M.A. and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, New York. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at Bronx Psychiatric Center and Postdoctoral Fellowship at Fordham University. Prior to joining STMH, Dr. Paisner worked as a Supervising Clinical Psychologist at NYC Health + Hospitals North Central Bronx Hospital where in addition to treating clients within the hospital’s acute inpatient and partial-hospital settings, she closely supervised pre-doctoral trainees and junior level psychologists.
