Helen Feltovich, MD

About Me

Helen Feltovich, MD, MS, is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist at Mount Sinai, where she is Professor in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Feltovich has special interests in prenatal ultrasound, preterm birth, and artificial intelligence applications to pregnancy medicine.

Dr. Feltovich comes to Mount Sinai from Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she served as Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Associate Medical Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Imaging Services in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2009. She concurrently served as Scientist in the Department of Medical Physics at University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2009 and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah since 2011.

Dr. Feltovich received a Master of Science in Environmental and Public Health with distinction in Biostatistics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oregon Health and Science University and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Feltovich’s research is in imaging science applications for preterm birth prediction and prevention. She is published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, has authored numerous book chapters and is the co-editor of a leading textbook, Obstetric Imaging. She is active in several professional societies, currently serving on the Board of Governors of the American Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and the Advisory Council and Scientific Committee of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
