About Me
Dr. Hideo Takahashi is a surgical oncologist with 18 years of training. After receiving his medical degree from Kobe University School of Medicine in Hyōgo, Japan, Dr. Takahashi completed his General Surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He then went on to complete his fellowship training in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. With his board certifications in Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology, Dr. Takahashi specializes in malignancies in the liver, pancreas, and upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, as well as robotic surgery for oncology cases and general surgery, including gallbladder and hernia repair. Additionally, Dr. Takahashi fluently speaks English and Japanese.
Outside of his time with patients, Dr. Takahashi acts as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Icahn School of Medicine, where he recently won a teaching award in recognition for his work with the Mount Sinai South Nassau General Surgery Residency Program. When he is not in his office, Dr. Takahashi enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with his family.
