About Me
Howard J. Greenberg, MD is Assistant Professor of Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His clinical interests include the treatment of lung, breast, colon, and other gastrointestinal cancers. He cares for patients with lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes, chronic leukemias, and benign blood disorders including hemochromatosis.
Working closely with his colleagues in surgical oncology and radiation oncology, Dr. Greenberg takes a collaborative, integrative and personalized approach to the treatment and care of his patients. He is the director of the Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center, a state-of-the-art treatment center for cancer and blood disorders and an extension of the Tisch Cancer Institute at The Mount Sinai Hospital. He finds his work very rewarding knowing that he can help make a patient’s life better regardless of circumstances.
Dr. Greenberg is committed to caring for the residents of Queens and has been providing them with quality, compassionate care for 35 years. As part of the community outreach program of Mount Sinai Queens in conjunction with the Sharing and Caring breast support service, he has lectured on breast cancer regularly. He has been the recipient of the esteemed Castle Connolly Top Doctors Award, (2007, 2008, 2010 – 2014) in which he is recognized by his peers as possessing a high level of medical skill and expertise.
Dr. Greenberg is board-certified in the specialty of internal medicine and the subspecialties of medical oncology and hematology. He received his medical degree from SUNY, Downstate Medical Center and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his subspecialty training with a fellowship in hematology at Mount Sinai Hospital and a fellowship in medical oncology
at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. At Mount Sinai Queens, he serves as Chair of the Medical Board and also serves on the Tumor Board.Language
