Hunaina Shahab, MBBS

Dr. Hunaina Shahab, serving as an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai Heart, specializes in multimodality cardiac imaging and preventive cardiology, with a particular focus on Hypertension. With a level 3 certification in Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI, and Echocardiography, she is currently running the Cardiac CT program at Mount Sinai West Hospital which is recognized for its exceptional quality. Beyond her clinical pursuits, Dr. Shahab is committed to medical education, actively training Advanced Cardiac Imaging fellows and General Cardiology fellows. Her dedication to teaching has been recognized with the prestigious Mount Sinai House Staff Excellence in Teaching Award.

In the realm of research, Dr. Shahab's interests encompass hypertension and multimodality imaging, leading to numerous book chapters and publications in esteemed journals. She has been invited as a reviewer for many renowned medical journals. She is an active member of the American College of Cardiology. Internationally, she has been an active member of the British and Irish Hypertension Society, contributing significantly to the formulation of national guidelines for the Pakistan Hypertension Society. In addition, she strives for the advancement of women in medicine, reflecting a passionate commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the field.
