About Me
Dr. Lefkowicz teaches on the faculty at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she is an Asssistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology. Dr. Ilyse Lefkowicz is a Board Certified dermatologist specializing in general and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Lefkowicz attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she was admitted to the University’s medical school after her sophomore year. She was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, graduating magna cum laude. After earning her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Lefkowicz completed her internship in Internal Medicine at New York’s St. Vincent’s Hospital. She subsequently completed a fellowship at New York Presbyterian hospital department of dermatology where she researched the relationship between UV light, neuropeptides and skin aging. At the conclusion of her fellowship training, Dr. Lefkowicz completed her dermatology residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey, where she was selected to be Chief Resident.
Dr. Lefkowicz is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She has been in private practice since completing her residency. Dr. Lefkowicz has authored numerous academic papers and has presented at medical conferences. Dr. Lefkowicz has extensive experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is known for her caring approach and meticulous attention to detail in providing the best possible results. Dr. Lefkowicz treats her patients as individuals and ensures that they make well-informed choices in order to achieve their desired results.
