About Me
Jacqueline H. Becker, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist, Director of Neurocognitive Health, and health services researcher at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s Division of General Internal Medicine. She completed her doctoral training at Fordham University, her residency at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and a two-year clinical neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Neurology at Northwell Health. Her research focuses on cognitive dysfunction in chronic medical diseases, including infection-associated chronic conditions. She is principal investigator (PI) of an NIH/NIMH clinical trial treating cognitive dysfunction in Long COVID, PI of an Alzheimer’s Association award investigating the cognitive effects of COVID-19, and Neurocognitive Lead for the NIH RECOVER Initiative observational study and all three NIH RECOVER-TLC clinical trials. She is also co-investigator an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) U18 grant establishing integrated long COVID and primary care in New York City and an NIH/NINDS R01 investigating mechanisms of neurological post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 using quantitative multiparametric in-vivo and ex-vivo MRI. In addition to her research program, she is Chair of the NIH/NINDS Cognitive Assessments Common Data Elements ME/CFS Committee and Chair of the International Neuropsychological Society’s NeuroCOVID Committee. She serves as an expert on the CDC/CMSS Long COVID Education, Engagement, and Care Management panel. Finally, she was appointed as a member of the Committee on the Long-Term Health Effects Stemming from COVID-19 and Implications for the Social Security Administration in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
