About Me
James Aisenberg, MD, is a Clinical Professor and practicing gastroenterologist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology. He is board certified in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Aisenberg is a Medical Director at the Endoscopy Center of New York and a partner in New York Gastroenterology Associates. He also serves as President of the Digestive Disease Research Foundation, which awards grants to medical students, permitting them to perform one year of full-time mentored research in gastroenterology, and is a mentor in the Humanities in Medicine program at The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association. His research has been published in a wide range of journals, abstracts and books and he is on the Editorial Board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and a reviewer for a number of journals including the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, and Digestive Diseases and Sciences. He is an invited lecturer nationally and internationally.
Dr. Aisenberg is the recipient of a multitude of awards and honors. In 2010, he was selected as a Top Reviewer by the Editorial Staff of GIE Journal and was the recipient of the prestigious Burrill B. Crohn Foundation Physician Research Award earlier in his career.
