About Me
Dr. James Anarella has been practicing Podiatry for over 30 years and been with Mount Sinai for more than a decade. After graduating with his medical degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Anarella completed his residency in Podiatry at the same institution. With his certification by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery, Dr. Anarella specializes in podiatric surgery. Additionally, he is bilingual and can communicate with patients in both English and Spanish.
When discussing his pathway into medicine, Dr. Anarella says his love for sports medicine drove him to his current practice. He enjoys each patient visit and advises all patients to stay active, maintain a healthy diet, and always challenge themselves. Outside of his time with patients, Dr. Anarella has an active lifestyle and is a 9-time Ironman!

The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
