About Me

Dr. James Cornwall is a board-certified vascular surgeon whose practice encompasses the full spectrum of vascular disease, including dialysis access, limb salvage, venous disease, wound care, carotid artery disease, and aortic aneurysms.

Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Cornwall is honored to care for patients in his hometown. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Physics and Economics. Before pursuing his medical career, he taught high school science in the Bronx as part of Teach for America. Dr. Cornwall earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), graduating with a Distinction in Research and receiving The Eugene W. Friedman, M.D. Prize for Clinical Excellence in Surgery in 2015.

Dr. Cornwall completed his training at Mount Sinai, graduating from the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program. Throughout his training, he presented at multiple national vascular conferences and published research in peer-reviewed journals.

He currently sees patients at Mount Sinai Union Square and Mount Sinai Morningside.
