About Me
James Youssef, MD, joined the Cardiovascular Institute, Mount Sinai Heart as a fulltime faculty in June 2023, in the role of Assistant Professor of Medicine, and is part of the faculty in the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Group. He completed internal medicine residency and fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at the University at Buffalo. Following that, he completed an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. He also completed an additional fellowship year in advanced cardiac imaging at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease both at the University at Buffalo and the University of Rochester and was faculty on the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant staff at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Youssef’s clinical interests include using advanced cardiac imaging to help diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of cardiomyopathies including particularly infiltrative disease. He will spend time at Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai Brooklyn. He will participate in training of Internal Medicine residents and Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure Fellows on the inpatient service and as a preceptor in outpatient clinics.
